At each monthly meeting, members bring potted plants, seedlings, seeds, and cuttings to be sold at bargain prices to encourage diversification in member's gardens.

Memorial Grove at
Brengle Terrace Park


VGC stone bench memorialTrees are planted in honor of former members where there is a Memorial Garden and stone bench. A memorial for the 9-11-01 victims is also established. There is also a Blue Star Memorial Marker honoring all military services. For further information, contact Dan Cannou.

Civic Beautification

memorial park market for VGCThe club works to improve landscaping within the city. Maintenance of the Memorial Grove is an on going activity. The Library Garden, which was designed and installed by the club when the library was built, was re-landscaped by the City of Vista when the new City Hall was completed. The Memorial Grove in Brengle Terrace Park has many varieties of trees planted in memory of departed club members and their families.

This is a project of the National Wildlife Federation to encourage Certified backyard habitats in our very own backyards. Club members will help you get started. For more information, contact Paula White.

Planting PartyPotting Parties

These Potting Parties are held periodically to pot up and prepare plants for sale, particularly at the annual Flower Show. Our horticulturist sets these up and runs them. For more information, contact Dan Cannou.

Penny Pines

Pennies for pine trees to plantCollections are made at each meeting for planting pine trees in the Cleveland National Forest. Many thousands of trees have been planted by Vista Garden Club.
